Kangaroo Fern

About

A very common and widespread species that is the member of this genus and family found in Tasmania. It can be found growing on rocks, logs and trees commonly in wet sclerophyll forests and in more open spaces in sub alpine areas.

It has thick broad glossy leaves with large circular sori that make this a very easy to identify fern

Size

Fronds 45–750 mm long

Habitat

Creeping and often covering extensive areas on the ground, growing over rocks or fallen logs, on cliffs and banks

Distribution

South eastern Australia from southern Queensland, NSW, Victoria and all of Tasmania and it's islands
